Source And Verification

Mechanics testing page. Last verified: July 13, 2026. Human and vampire form advice should be verified through repeated quest, combat, and NPC interaction tests.

No ending, romance, or consequence claim should be made from form assumptions alone.

See the sources and editorial policy page for the evidence rules used across this guide.

Why The Two-Side Structure Matters

The game's premise makes Coen's human and vampire sides central to route planning. The key guide question is not simply which form is stronger; it is when each side is useful, risky, or restricted.

Testing Checklist

  • Which actions are safest during the day?
  • Which powers become available or stronger at night?
  • Can NPC reactions, stealth, or quest access change by form?
  • Does power use affect story consequences or endings?
  • How does the 30-day timeline interact with form-specific routes?

Guide Structure After Launch

Each quest, boss, and build page should include a human/vampire note when form choice affects the route. This creates practical internal links instead of isolated lore pages.

Human-Side Questions

The human side should be tested for social access, daytime safety, investigation routes, and whether certain NPCs or quests respond differently before night falls. If the human side is weaker in combat but stronger in social routing, that needs to be visible in every quest guide.

Vampire-Side Questions

The vampire side should be tested for combat power, stealth, traversal, feeding, and possible consequences. A power that wins a fight may still be costly if it creates witness problems, story changes, or time pressure.

Decision Matrix

Use Human Route When
You need NPC access, low-risk information, daytime quest progress, or fewer social consequences.
Use Vampire Route When
You need power, stealth, speed, or a combat solution and can manage the risk.
Wait For Testing When
The guide cannot yet confirm whether form choice affects endings, romance, achievements, or irreversible decisions.

How Form Advice Should Be Verified

Form advice should compare the same objective under both conditions when possible. If the vampire route solves a fight but creates a witness, story, or timing problem, the guide should say so. If the human route is slower but safer, that should also be recorded. The goal is to help players choose the right risk, not simply chase the strongest form.

Launch-Week Use Case

Early updates should focus on repeatable examples: one quest, one combat encounter, one stealth route, and one NPC interaction tested under both forms where possible. That evidence will make the form guide more useful than a lore summary and will support later recommendations for builds, powers, and route planning.

FAQ

Why separate human and vampire form guides?
Players will search for identity, powers, restrictions, and story consequences separately. A dedicated page keeps those questions organized.
Can form-specific builds be finalized before release?
No. Builds require confirmed skills, power costs, gear, enemy matchups, and respec rules.
What should the page avoid?
Avoid unverified claims about transformations, morality outcomes, endings, or exact power restrictions.
